PERSONAL INFORMATION
I was born Nelson Odhiambo Ajwang in Kisumu City (Kenya) near the shores of Lake Victoria in a slum known as Manyatta. I am the third born child , have two older and two younger siblings.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I started school in 1995. During my primary school education I was an active member of Kenya Scouts Association and a scout leader in my school. I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in 2002 then moved on to Kisumu Day High School for my High school studies in 2003. While in this school I was an active member of the school drama club and a dedicated Tae-kwondo player.
MUSICAL JOURNEY
I started music in high school in 2004 at level two and was inspired greatly by my desk mate, Billy Ndolo, who told me that I was able to do music. He happened to be a church keyboard player so, whenever he made new tunes or think of a new rhythm he was to play in church, I found myself singing along and composing music. Many a times I found myself in the Principals office for making noise as I used to beat lockers as a beat!
I recorded my first single while in this form (2) with the same desk mate who made me the instrument using their church keyboard.......... It was really nice for the first time to listen to my voice on a CD (The song is called 'Nipe Mkono')
RISE TO FAME
At level three I recorded two more hit songs called 'Watere Moss' and 'Migingo'....... The songs were being played on local radio station and school radio station. It was from there that people started to know JASIGAN and I began playing in clubs, on school outings and many other occasions.
After having completed my college Education I moved to Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, to work with talented producers and was contacted by Nation Media Group newspaper. I was interviewed and put in the papers.........
I thank all those who have supported me through my musical journey so far and my family for giving me a chance to do what I like rather than what they like! I thank Shynining Records in Kisumu City and Mega Records for having recorded my hit songs and producer Graham Billy for helping me become who I am who I am today.
Lastly I thank all of my fans out there.
